Pamela Snyder is a native of Monterey Bay. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film, an MBA in Sustainability, and 15 years of formal dance training. Snyder’s large-format abstract painting affords her ample space to explore the way raw color and shape can capture the emotion of a point in time.
She appreciates that just as a film is made of 24 still frames per second, our lives are experienced as single points in time and space strung together. As an avid traveler who has visited over 30 countries and lived in five, her paintings echo the places she has been. She typically places her canvases horizontally to paint them, which allows her to interact more directly with the paint and canvas, like a dancer moving across the stage or a traveler exploring a map.
She refers to her current style of painting as abstract topography.
